![]() Githyanki are straight busted in comparison to every other race in BG3. Well, they'd get the +1 AC, so that's something. It's not just that the players get too many items in BG3, it's that the items they get are way too good, and anything that lets you use more is really really good.Even under those conditions, Dual Wielder would be irrelevant for casters, as you can already hold a staves in each hand, you just can't use them to get the off-hand bonus action attack while TWFing. It's also kind of interesting there's a difference in design between WotC's staves (charge-based, multiple spells, basically magic weapons otherwise) and Larian's (persistent, always-on bonuses to YOUR spells, synergistic effects like lightning charges). If the assumption in DnD was that casters didn't need free hands and could Attune to infinite items and would have multiple Rare/Very Rare/Legendary staves sitting in their inventory by level 5, heck yeah Dual Wielder would be a top-tier caster feat. War Caster is generally considered a good feat, in part because it allows you to cast with both hands occupied, letting you use a shield. Yeah, though it requires both removing the Attunement rules (which personally I don't like anyway) and the requirement for casters to have a free hand to cast spells with a Somatic component. An interesting thing about Dual Wielder is that it shows how a feat that is considered to be underpowered can be quite good in a magic item rich campaign (and BG3 is crazily overpowered with magic items).Yeah, though it requires both removing the Attunement rules (which personally I don't like anyway) and the requirement for casters to have a free hand to cast spells with a Somatic component. ![]()
